I fell in love of photography in the days of film, when we had to get it right in 24 or 36 frames and we didn’t get to see what we shot until the film was developed and prints made. In those days I lived on 10-acres of land in Warrenton, Virginia with my husband, three children, a yippy little Jack Russell Terrier, and big furry half-Lab, half-Newfoundland, a sweet little hound, numerous cats, horses, an occasional steer, and for an insane time, chickens. And I am originally from New York! In my house I had a darkroom where I processed black & white film. Well, actually, it was a laundry room that doubled as a darkroom and a darkroom that reluctantly shared its magic with the laundry.
A love affair with Annapolis and the surrounding are began soon after moving here in 1996. Everywhere I turned, from Main Street to side streets, on creeks and in alleys, I was captivated. Around every corner and in plain view, at daybreak and sunset, images were waiting to be captured at first on film and now on digital media.
So, here I am, 26 years later, still finding new photo ops, walking around Eastport and crossing Spa Bridge into Historic Annapolis. Check out my Facebook page, Eastport a Walkin’, a website dedicated to the character and characters of Easport.
